The earliest known coin minted in Scotland 900 years ago has been acquired by the National Museums Scotland. It was found in a wooded area near Penicuik, Midlothian by a metal detectorist. The coin has been valued at £15,000 (₹18 lakh), which has been paid to the finder as a reward by the King's and Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer.
