Russian army suffered 42,860 casualties in July, claims Ukraine

Ukraine’s Defence Ministry claimed that Russia suffered 42,860 battlefield casualties in July. The figures include troops killed and wounded and represent the highest monthly figure claimed by Kyiv since January 2025. Ukraine also claimed its biggest territorial gains in over a year, saying it retook nearly 300 square miles and 26 settlements along the southern front during the month.
