People tend to marry partners with similar views on gender roles, study finds

People are highly likely to marry partners who share similar beliefs about the roles of men and women in society, a study published by the University of York found. Researchers said views on issues like mothers working full-time or both partners contributing financially shape partner choice. Such alignment also leads to higher marital satisfaction and lower divorce risk, they added.
