Indian-origin Soumith Chintala has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Thinking Machines Lab, the company co-founded by former OpenAI executive Mira Murati. Born in Hyderabad, Chintala holds a B.Tech degree in information technology from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and a master’s in computer science from New York University. Most recently, he served at Meta's AI division.
