Indian Railways network to add 656 km more as Cabinet clears ₹10,783-crore projects

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, approved three multitracking projects across 14 districts in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The projects will add about 656 km to the Indian Railways network, improve connectivity to around 4,790 villages and benefit about 56 lakh people. The projects have an estimated cost of ₹10,783 crore.
