Nitrate in drinking water linked to increased dementia risk: Study

A recent study suggested that dementia risk may depend on the source of nitrate exposure. The study conducted in 54,000 Danish adults for up to 27 years found that higher nitrate intake from vegetables, such as spinach, was linked to lower dementia risk. Meanwhile, nitrate and nitrite from processed meats, red meat and drinking water were associated with higher risk.
