Indian airlines sound SOS to govt over fuel prices, warns 'They're challenging our entire ops'

Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA), which represents Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet, has sounded an SOS to the Civil Aviation Ministry, seeking "urgent support" regarding jet fuel pricing to continue operations. FIA said the industry is under "extreme stress" and on verge of shutting down. It asked the government to suspend 11% excise duty on jet fuel and reduce VAT.
