The Supreme Court rapped the Centre for sending a low-ranking under-secretary-level officer to a high-level meeting regarding CCTV installation in police stations, which SC has been monitoring for years. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan then personally appeared before the SC on April 7 upon the court's direction. However, SC exempted him from attending the next hearing on April 28.
