What is the order of inheritance if a person dies without a Will?

Under the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, the property of a male who dies without a Will first passes to Class I heirs, which include his widow, son, daughter and mother, among others. If there is no surviving Class I heir, the property can be passed on to Class II heirs, which include the deceased's father, brothers and sisters, among others.
