Google sends 4 AI chips into space aboard Musk's SpaceX
Google launched a prototype satellite carrying four Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) into orbit aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. The launch marks the first step in Project Suncatcher, Google’s long-term research effort to explore whether scalable AI infrastructure, such as data centres, can be hosted in space. During the mission, the chips will handle simple AI requests using Gemini technology.
