North Korea, Russia open their first road bridge as symbol of expanding ties

North Korea and Russia opened their first road bridge on ‌Monday. The structure spans the Tumen River and is seen as an important milestone in deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations. The bridge's construction began ⁠in April 2025 after the project was agreed upon during a visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to North Korea in ​2024.
