Sweet prices may rise as sugar, dry-fruit costs squeeze makers' profits
Rising prices of sugar, milk, ghee, butter, dry fruits and saffron have increased sweet shops' input costs by nearly 10%, Moneycontrol reported. This has squeezed their profit margins ahead of the festive season. Jaipur-based Tyohaar Sweets has hiked prices by 5%, while Bengaluru-based Lal Sweets could increase them by 6-8%. Sweet Bengal might also consider a 2-3% price adjustment.
