Canada has suspended its Start-up Visa (SUV) programme that enabled immigrant entrepreneurs to build businesses in the country. While no new applications are being accepted, those already in Canada on an SUV work permit can still apply for extensions. The country plans to launch a new, targeted pilot programme for immigrant entrepreneurs in 2026.
