Rupee hits 2-month high against dollar

The Indian rupee jumped 67 paise to open at ₹94.30 against the US dollar on Thursday, hitting its highest level in two months. The surge came after foreign currency non-resident bank [FCNR(B)] deposit inflows exceeded expectations. The RBI said on Wednesday that its special USD-INR forex swap facility attracted $136.38 billion in inflows, including $127.23 billion through FCNR(B) deposits.
