Gold bond investors to see 204% returns on premature redemption

Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGB) 2020-21 Series VI investors will be able to prematurely redeem their bonds at ₹15,384 per unit on September 8, 2026. Issued at ₹5,067 per gram for digital payments, the bonds have delivered an absolute return of about 204%. An investment of ₹1 lakh at issuance would now be worth around ₹3.04 lakh.
