Trump plans to cut USAID staff from 10,000 to 294 globally: Reports

US President Donald Trump's administration plans to reduce the strength of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) from 10,000 globally to only 294, reports said. This would leave the Africa bureau with 12 staff and the Asia bureau with just eight. This is seen as a reorganisation initiative driven by Trump's ally Elon Musk, who's been critical of USAID.
