NGT orders MP to plant 7,000 trees for 700 felled to build stadium

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department to plant 7,000 trees by September 30 to compensate for the felling of over 700 trees. The tribunal was hearing proceedings concerning the felling of trees during the construction of a cricket stadium. The petition also alleged that the municipal corporation had granted permission for a golf course.
