Spain permanently withdrew its ambassador to Israel on Tuesday amid rising diplomatic tensions between the two countries over Madrid's opposition to US-Israeli strikes on Iran. The ambassador was called back to Spain last year amid a row over Spanish measures banning aircraft and ships ​carrying weapons to Israel from its ports ⁠or airspace during Israel’s Gaza offensive.
