TMC's Saket Gokhale claimed that RTI response revealed that Centre spent ₹2,586 crore on advertisements promoting PM Narendra Modi between 2020 and 2026. He said expenditure included ₹936 crore on television, ₹796 crore on print, ₹584 crore on hoardings, and ₹270 crore on social media. He claimed print ad spending touched ₹338 crore in 2025–26, four times the previous year.
