SC forms panel to probe use of excessive police force against student protesters

Supreme Court reconstituted a five-member High-Powered Enquiry Committee to probe allegations of excessive use of force by police and paramilitary forces against students during recent protests. Former SC judge Justice R Subhash Reddy will head the panel. It will examine the use of pellet guns, electric batons, lathi charges, tear gas, as well as the alleged violence against women protesters.
