Why is Dubai’s iconic 15-storey Toyota Building being demolished?

Dubai's Nasser Rashid Lootah Building, widely known as Toyota Building, will be demolished in 2027 after over five decades. The decision reportedly came after Dubai Municipality did not approve the building's maintenance work, given its current condition. One of the reasons for the evacuation was high population density in the building and overcrowding linked to illegally partitioned apartments.
