PM Modi pushes for seafarers' safety at BRICS Summit

PM Narendra Modi called for greater safety of seafarers at BRICS Summit in New Delhi, saying they make a massive contribution to global trade. He proposed a “Seafarers’ Emergency Support Network” to provide distress alerts, medical aid and family notifications. At least 10 to 13 Indian seafarers have been killed in attacks on vessels in Gulf since US-Iran war began.
