IIT Bombay Prof, drought prediction expert, selected for NASI Young Scientist Award
IIT Bombay Associate Professor Karthikeyan Lanka has been selected for the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) Young Scientist Award 2026, one of the most prestigious awards for early-career researchers. He studies how satellites can help identify changes in soil, vegetation and land surface conditions to predict agricultural droughts. This could give farmers crucial time to prepare.
