TSMC to use 3 nm tech at second Japan factory

TSMC plans to manufacture advanced 3-nanometre semiconductors at its second Japan factory under JASM, with total equipment investment exceeding $23 billion. The facility in Kumamoto will cater to growing AI-driven chip demand. Investment and production will proceed in phases, subject to market conditions and continued Japanese government support.
