Microsoft posts $36 bn profit, record revenue days after offering buyouts to 60,000 employees

Microsoft's profit rose by 32% year-over-year to $36.6 billion during the September quarter. The company also reported a 19% jump in revenue to a record $92.3 billion, its 10th straight quarter of record-breaking revenue. The earnings report came days after Microsoft offered voluntary exits to around 60,000 employees, or more than 25% of its workforce.
