Panama's President Jose Raul Mulino said the country won't renew Belt and Road Initiative with China after US President Donald Trump threatened to retake control of Panama Canal to prevent potential Chinese influence over it. Mulino stated that his country's sovereignty over the Panama Canal is not up for discussion. Panama had joined the Chinese initiative in 2017.
