A geologist from New York University found that Earth's natural disasters could be caused by dark matter particles, absorbed when the planet moves through the Milky Way galaxy. Professor Michael Rampino said the particles after gathering in the Earth's core collide and annihilate each other. He added that this leads to the release of heat which then initiates geological activity.
