Chestnut Bee returns after missing since 1904 in New York

Scientists discovered a rare Chestnut bee mining at an orchard in New York, a species not officially recorded in the state since 1904. The bee depends heavily on chestnut pollen and is believed to be only the second known population of the species in New York today. The finding suggests that rare pollinators may still survive in small, hidden populations.
