Bhutan has refused to buy petrol blended with 20% ethanol, or E20 petrol, from Indian oil marketing companies (OMCs), The Bhutanese reported, citing the country's trade department. The resistance to E20 petrol is due to shortcomings in Bhutan's fuel storage, which cannot ensure E20 fuel isn't contaminated by water. Once water contaminates ethanol-blended petrol, its quality is affected.
