China's rare-earth magnet exports to US drop over 20% before Xi-Trump meet

China's exports of rare-earth magnets to the US dropped by nearly 21% in August to 512 tonnes from the previous month. This comes ahead of a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump on September 24. Rare-earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnets commercially available and are made from the rare-earth elements.
