Sweden PM resigns after left parties win 176 parliamentary seats
Sweden’s PM Ulf Kristersson resigned on Thursday, paving way for Social Democrats’ leader Magdalena Andersson to form a government. A group of centre-left parties led by Social Democrats under Andersson won 176 seats in parliament. Andersson, who became Sweden’s first woman PM in 2021, said country would take a new direction after four years of hard-line government policies on immigration.
