After West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation of Durga Angan in Kolkata, BJP claimed that state government shifted the site of temple complex at the eleventh hour to appease minorities. "Muslims protested the original site...claiming the land was acquired from them," BJP's Amit Malviya said. The new site was earmarked for industrial units, which never materialised, he added.
