Founder of China's Evergrande, world's most debt-ridden property developer, jailed for life

The billionaire founder of China's Evergrande Group, the property developer at the centre of the country's housing crisis, has been sentenced to life in prison. In April, Hui Ka Yan pleaded guilty to charges including fundraising fraud and illegally taking public deposits. Once the world's most valuable developer, Evergrande is now its most indebted, with around $300 billion in liabilities.
