Union Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu issued a statement after a Sharjah-bound Air India Express flight suffered hydraulic failure mid-air, forcing its return to Tiruchirappalli airport. He said a full emergency was declared at 18:05 IST, and emergency teams responded swiftly to prepare for its landing at 20:15 IST. The DGCA has been instructed to thoroughly examine the aircraft, he added.
