Jharkhand's traditional musical instrument Mandar receives GI tag

The traditional musical instrument Mandar, associated with Jharkhand's folk culture and tribal life received a Geographical Indication (GI) tag. Its traditional craftsmanship, use of locally sourced red clay and indigenous manufacturing techniques were cited as key features supporting its GI application. Mandar Samrat Manpuran Nayak said the recognition is a tribute to Jharkhand's soil ancestors.
