Pre-monsoon showers accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms lashed Mumbai and surrounding areas on Monday. The India Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for rain in the region till June 25, as the monsoon is expected to arrive in Mumbai today or tomorrow. Notably, the IMD will announce the monsoon only when all parameters for the monsoon are met.
