Ex-Guj CM offers ₹50,000 to Brahmins, Vaniyas & Patels for manual scavenging; BJP slams

Former Gujarat CM Shankersinh Vaghela sparked a row after offering ₹50,000/month to Patel, Vaniya and Brahmin people willing to undertake manual scavenging and clean excreta. He was arguing in favour of reservation. BJP leader Yagnesh Dave criticised Vaghela for fostering caste animosity and said he would offer him ₹5 lakh if he cleaned up the waste at his (Dave's) home.
