Lucknow tops 2026 rankings for clean air efforts, followed by Indore

Lucknow topped the 2026 'Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan' ranking for efforts by cities with population above 10 lakh to lower air pollution and was followed by Indore, India's cleanest city, and Jabalpur. Delhi was ranked 21, Mumbai at rank 28, and Bengaluru was ranked 32. Chennai, Jamshedpur, Kota, Kolkata and Madurai were the bottom five ranked cities in the category.
