Music composer Amaal Mallik took an apparent swipe at Tanishk Bagchi, calling him "Mr Remix & Destroyer of Originals" without naming him. Amaal accused him of stealing songs, destroying original music and mistreating female singers. He accused Tanishk Bagchi of lifting the title track of ‘Saiyaara’ from the original composers and claimed it was copied from 'Humnawa Mere'.
