9 people killed in fresh Manipur violence, PM Modi assures help to restore peace

Nine people were killed and 14 houses torched in fresh clashes between Nagas and Kukis across Manipur's Kamjong, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul districts within 24 hours. The violence escalated after a Kuki woman, mother of five, was fatally shot during firing between armed groups and security forces. PM Modi assured CM Y Khemchand Singh of all possible assistance to restore peace.
