In a first, Indian & Australian researchers replace coal with farm waste to make green steel

Researchers from the Indian Institute of Science and Australia's national science agency CSIRO have successfully demonstrated the use of agricultural waste to partially replace coke in commercial steelmaking. Sharing pictures of the trial, Australia's High Commissioner to India Philip Green said, "A world-first for Green Steel!" Locally sourced rice husk pellets were used in the trial.
