Spending on data centre construction in the US surpassed $50 billion for the first time in April, according to Census Bureau data. Private-sector investment in data centres also exceeded public spending on transportation infrastructure, including airports, ports and mass transit, for the first time. Data centres now account for 2.3% of all US construction spending.
