Meta on Tuesday announced a partnership with chip designer Broadcom to develop custom AI processors. As part of an extended tie-up of a multi-gigawatt rollout, Meta will initially deploy one gigawatt of computing capacity, the companies said. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan will leave Meta's board and transition to an advisor role for the custom chip roadmap, a statement read.
