Viral notice declaring all Saturdays as holidays for public banks is fake, says govt

A gazette circulating on social media claiming that the Centre has declared every Saturday a public holiday for public sector banks is fake, PIB Fact Check said. No such notification has been issued by the Ministry of Finance, it added. Recently, a three-day strike by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) for a five-day banking week was deferred.
