Iran's military names Ahmad Vahidi as new Commander-in-Chief after top officials killed

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has named Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi as new Commander-in-Chief after top military officials were assassinated in US-Israel joint operation. Vahidi, who previously served as Minister of Defence and Minister of Interior, was appointed as Deputy Commander-in-Chief on December 31, 2025. Notably, Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Pakpour was killed on Saturday.
