Maharashtra cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal for a $500 million (₹4,700 crore) loan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for works under phase III of the Chief Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana. The project aims to strengthen rural connectivity by upgrading village and district roads. Road and bridge works covering about 3,500 km will be undertaken, as per reports.
