SC rules out blanket fireworks ban ahead of Diwali, urges time-bound use

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled out a complete ban on fireworks ahead of Diwali, saying it would consider allowing select firecrackers within designated hours. The court also said it would not allow round-the-clock unrestricted use, adding that a middle ground was needed. "A total ban would affect sentiments," the court said while hearing a case on regulating firecrackers.
