Lifestyle consultant Sadhna Singh told IndianExpress that brisk walking, incline walking, and interval-style walking help in elevating the heart rate, improving the insulin sensitivity and promoting fat oxidation. These help those who aren't regular with their high-intensity workouts, she added. Walking has unique advantages in metabolic health as it doesn't put too much stress on nervous system.
