India's net direct tax collections up 12.96% to ₹12.12 lakh crore

India's net direct tax collections rose 12.96% year-on-year to ₹12.12 lakh crore as of September 17, FY2026-27, as per Income Tax Department data. Gross collections surged 15.19% to ₹14.32 lakh crore. Refunds jumped 29.19% to ₹2.20 lakh crore. Net corporate tax rose to ₹5.56 lakh crore, while STT collections soared to ₹40,214 crore.
