US asked European allies to put tariffs on India, they refused

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said the US had asked European allies to impose secondary tariffs on India and China for buying Russian oil amid the war in Ukraine but they refused. "The Europeans have given Russia and Vladimir Putin more money than they've given the Ukrainians. They continue to gorge on Russian energy," Bessent added.
